ETHICS AND HONESTY
When you think of the General Assembly do the words, ethical and honest pop into your head? No, they do not! They do not because the House of Representatives, which is the primary governing body in this state, is broken. It is controlled by one party and that party has lost its way.
We need to elect candidates who have real plans for the change that is needed. We need candidates who are not beholden to special interest groups, union bosses or lobbyists. We need candidates who can vote their conscience and base their decisions on what is right for Rhode Island as a whole, not what is right for the small but powerful special interests.
1. We need to stop Legislative Grants, which are basically bribes that the Speaker uses to get votes on certain issues from various representatives who may not want to vote the way the Speaker wants.
2. We need to eliminate the powerful influence that local union bosses have in the State House. They determine how legislation is passed and will openly threaten legislators who do not vote as they want on key bills before the General Assembly.
